Dr. Iftikhar Qayum holds a Ph.D. in Human/Medical Genetics from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, and an MBBS degree from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. His academic achievements include completing a thesis on "Status of the DNA methyl transferase 1 (DNMT1) gene in human lymphomas and its role in oncogenic transformation".
As Director of Medical Research and Medical Education since 2012, Dr. Iftikhar Qayum has made significant contributions to the field. He established and heads the Department of Medical Research at RMC, developed and implemented a modular integrated 5-year MBBS curriculum, and trained faculty in modern medical education concepts.
Additionally, he facilitates undergraduate and postgraduate research, publications, and biostatistics as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Rehman Medical Institute (JRMI) since 2015.
Dr. Qayum is an expert in medical research and genetics, medical education and curriculum development, journal management and publication, and biostatistics and medical writing. His dedication and expertise have made a major impact in the medical field, and he continues to inspire and educate future generations of medical professionals.
