After secondary education from Edwards College Peshawar in March 1979,  I did my MBBS from Army Medical College Rawalpindi in Dec 1983. My association with Pathology began in 1989 when I did my Diploma in Clinical Pathology from Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute. After serving in various military hospitals and field medical units, I was selected for my post graduate training in Histopathology at Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, (AFIP). I cleared FCPS in Histopath with distinction and was awarded three Gold Medasl for outstanding performance. I was appointed as Consultant Histopathology and HOD lab services in many military hospitals including CMH Bahawalpur, CMH Peshawar and CMH Quetta. In 2011 I was appointed as Assoc Prof of Pathology and HOD Histopath in Army Medical College where I served for about three years. In 2013 I was appointed as Prof of Pathology and HOD Hispath, Cytopath and Moleular Pathology Departments at AFIP, Rawalpindi. I retired from military services in Sep 2017 and was awarded Tamghae-Imtiaz (Military) for my meritorious services in field of Pathology.
