Pathology

Pathology is a bridging discipline between basic sciences and clinical sciences
Liaison between a pathologist and a clinician is very helpful in diagnosis and treatment

Four basic branches of pathology are:

  • Histopathology
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Chemical Pathology

The Department of Pathology is committed to engagement in discovering and applying knowledge in the study of disease.
It strives to foster and inculcate research based curriculum to enhance critical thinking in the students.
It aims to support an interdisciplinary academic environment to provide opportunities of new learning strategies such as CBLs, PBLs and seminars for the students and CME workshops and CPD sessions for the faculty.

About

Vision

The vision of the department is to be the leading academic Pathology department nationally, dissemination of knowledge in study of disease and training the most promising students as clinicians, innovators and scientists.

Principal’s Message

We established Rehman Medical College to introduce contemporary best practices in undergraduate medical training. It is heartening to see that in five years’ time we have succeeded incrementally to establish practices and traditions of integrated modular curriculum in letter and spirit. Our students have shown capacity to attain competence of high level both in prescribed academics and research under the guidance of well-trained faculty. Following strict ethical practices in training students, RMC established a Clinical Skill Center (CSC) to bridge the gap between the bench (basic sciences) and bedside (real patient encounters) through simulations in 2012. This center is now the hallmark of training on customized mannequins that has reflected its impact far and wide. Our students are encouraged to take full part in co-curricular activities to develop into healthy personalities. RMC policy intends to graduate its product for the best consumption of all
Communities of the country and with strong potentials to compete globally, matching best of professional standards. I welcome the new entrants and pledge endeavor of persistent mentoring.
